Respect.Now.Always
ºÚÁÏÍø, as the peak leadership organisation for university libraries in Australia, pledges its support for Respect.Now.Always.
ºÚÁÏÍø is committed to upholding the values of our institutions.
ºÚÁÏÍø does not condone sexual harassment in any form, and sexual assault is a crime.
ºÚÁÏÍø strives to uphold the position of the university libraries as trusted, safe spaces.
ºÚÁÏÍø is committed to the principles of Respect.Now.Always as advocated by Universities Australia:
- every student should feel safe as they work towards their degree or diploma; and,
- every student who reports sexual violence should receive a compassionate, timely and fair response. ºÚÁÏÍø will exercise leadership and uphold these principles to ensure:
- That institutional information about on-campus safety and support is visible and accessible within the library.
- That library staff are equipped with the appropriate skills and knowledge to respond with compassion and support.
- That university libraries work closely with student leaders and the university community to address on-campus safety and lead cultural change regarding sexual assault and harassment.
